LOL Mom- Post 4

Hey fam,
I was sitting at my dinner table after tennis today when I was practicing my card tricks. My mom proceeded to walk through the door getting home from work. She looks at me and is so confused at what I am doing. The look on her face was priceless as I told her it was homework. Shout out to Mr. Perlman and McDaniels for that one. Now onto the important stuff. So today I brought out the big guns. I tried two tricks today in class. Both did very well. The first one I tried first on Matt and completely forgot to do a huge part of the trick.

But things went uphill from there. I confused the rest of my table and went around to a few more others and got them to. The first trick was pretty easy and was something even Mr. McDaniels could do. Then I went to the hard trick. The final result looked like this.

I happened to get great reactions out of this one. Now I had to switch it up a little bit as tommy bent one of my 8's and didnt want to be suspected for cheating but it was such a cool trick. The rush I got from people's faces was fantastic and really got me excited about what I could do. By the next cycle I want to have 2 more tricks perfected and ready to be used on other people. So far I have three but two aren't that difficult. I plan on these next two to be difficult like the "8" trick. One that caught my eye was the "Impress the Ladies" trick. Now it does have to do with queens but I do love impressing the ladies. I'll make sure to keep you guys updated.

  1. It is great that you are progressing through your magic tricks and gaining a better understanding in how they work and good technique. I was able to watch one of your tricks during class and it was impressive. I look forward to more card tricks and hopefully one of these times I will be able to figure out how you did it. It is also good to see you are practicing with people because I know a large part of doing magic tricks is attracting the audience and you cannot work on that without performing in front of others

  2. Hey David,
You are truly a ladies man, with or without these card tricks. Hahaha. I think its actually good that you are running into some issues, its like an eye opener i guess and it shows the work and practice which goes into this topic. Im looking forward to more of your tricks.

  3. Magic is such a great thing to try. It is truly bewildering. It is nice to hear that you have been successful with mystifying you audience, which is truly the magicians job. If you keep up the good work, you could pull of a huge trick Lets see if you can mystify the whole class!

  4. Hi David,

I think we would benefit from seeing a video of the two tricks that you saw. I think that you really are learning a lot from performing live versus simply working on card tricks alone. You should really expand your audience beyond your table so that you can get different people's opinions on your magic.

  5. Hey Dave!
Glad to see that you're really enjoying yourself with this magic stuff. I must say, I was very impressed when you did that one cool card trick for me, Avery, and Margo last week. I'm sure you practiced that for hours before showing us, as we can be pretty harsh and intimidating sometimes. I'm really excited to see what other tricks you will impress us with in the future. Keep up the good work, kiddo!

  6. Hey David,
This looks like a really fun project! I would love to see a video or two of you trying these tricks out on classmates or teachers or even family members! The trick you did for me and a few other people last week was so cool and completely blew my mind! I can't believe how much you've learned in just a little bit of time. Performing them for people is probably more difficult than just doing it by yourself. As a dancer, I experience this first hand. Dancing for just myself is much much easier than doing it for an audience. Good luck and I can't wait to see more!

  7. Hey David,
This is so cool! I can't believe how much you have learned in just a short amount of time. I would love to see a video of you trying these tricks out on teachers, classmates, friends, or family members. I remember last week when you showed me and a few other students one of your tricks, you completely amazed me. These magic tricks will definitely 'impress the ladies'. I know as a dancer that performing in front of an audience is much more difficult than performing by yourself. Good luck and I can't wait to see more!
